Requirements & Procedures

To apply for consideration of acceptance into the Millers College of Nursing program, all interested applicants, must complete or meet the requirements of each step listed below without exception: Applications are accepted continuously throughout the year for our Spring and Fall semesters. Criteria for Admission

  • Attend an orientation session about the nursing program prior to submitting the application.
  • Submit a completed college application for admission and all related materials by the application deadline and the $100.00 application.
  • Submit official transcripts from all previous institutions attended to the Office of Student Affairs for evaluation.

Applicants whose native language is other than English must demonstrate an established level of English proficiency by taking the internet based TOEFL and have a minimum cumulative score of 90 with minimum individual scores of 26 in speaking, 22 in listening, 20 in writing, and 22 in reading. Only official scores will be accepted and the testing must be within two years of application to the program.

If applicant attended, or is a graduate of a foreign institution, all coursework from the foreign institution must be evaluated for U. S. institutional equivalence. The official evaluation must be sent directly from the evaluation service For evaluations, please contact one of the following:

  • Applicants must have a current/active United States Practical Nursing license without limitations or sanctions.
  • Applicants must have an overall GPA of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale as in your prerequisite coursework and listed on your official transcript.
  • Two professional letters of recommendation (supervisor, professor, instructor)
  • Be able to complete, prior to enrollment in the nursing program, all the specific prerequisites required.
  • Prerequisite courses with less than a ā€œCā€ grade may be repeated once, and no more than two courses may be repeated.

Exceptions to this requirement may be requested by letter to the Office of Admissions.

  • Students must provide proof of completion of the CLAST Examination with score requirements of: Essay 6 ELS 295 Reading 295 Math 295

Previous Education Credits
